Mrs. Renzullo's French 8 & 9 Classes
We will be learning about how to find websites that you can use for learning and for research. We talk often about credible websites... a credible website is one that is believable, worthwhile, and trustworthy. These are the kinds of websites we want to use when doing research for a project or learning about something new. The internet is full of hoax sites, fake news, and opinions written as fact. It's important to learn how to sort through all of this!
Our plan for this class:
1) Watch a video about credible websites
2) Review some websites together and discuss credibility
3) Do an activity in teams to investigate a website and decide if it's credible
4) Try out some online tools you can use in French class
5) Discuss why some online translators don't work

How to choose credible websites for your research...
First, we'll watch the following video about doing research using the internet.
After we watch and discuss the video, you'll be assigned a number which represents a specific website. Your job will be to investigate the website assigned to you, and make notes about the pros and cons of the site. You'll need to make a final decision about whether or not you can use that website for research. |
